Frontend Product Engineer
Rebuild Octocom's dashboard into a world-class agentic AI helpdesk, from the component system to the backend behind it.
About Octocom
Every day, support teams spend thousands of hours on the same questions. Where is my order? How do I return this? Which product should I choose? Can I change my delivery address?
That work no longer needs to be manual. Octocom's AI handles these conversations independently across chat, email, and phone, from order tracking and returns to product guidance and order changes. Brands get faster responses, lower support costs, and happier customers.
We grew 10x in 2025 and are on track to do it again in 2026. Our AI has already handled hundreds of millions of customer conversations. We keep things direct: few meetings, no politics, clear responsibility, and honest feedback.
The role
Octocom's dashboard is where our customers run their AI support. It has grown fast and it shows: React, TypeScript, and Tailwind, with plenty of ad hoc styling and no real component system.
Your main project is rebuilding it into a world-class agentic AI helpdesk. That means more than better-looking screens. You'll shape how the whole product is organized and how people understand and operate it.
What you'll own
- Information architecture. The dashboard's layout, which settings pages exist, and what belongs on each one.
- The component system. Reusable components that make the product consistent and faster to build.
- UI craft. Deliberate typography, spacing, hierarchy, and interaction design.
- Clarity. Every page should make it obvious what it does, what each setting means, and what decision the user needs to make.
- In-product explanation. Documentation and guidance that help users understand the system.
- The backend behind it. The engineering that makes these experiences work end to end.
Backend you'll need
This is a frontend-led role, but you'll carry changes all the way through. You should be comfortable:
- Writing SQL and working with the data behind the dashboard.
- Building API routes for product interfaces and workflows.
- Deciding what belongs in the browser and what belongs on the server, with performance in mind.
- Refactoring data structures or database tables when a better experience needs it.
You don't need to be a backend specialist. You need to be able to finish the job.
Who we're looking for
Someone with impeccable taste who is also a strong engineer. You can open a complex settings page, see what's confusing, decide how it should work, and ship a clear, polished version.
You make real product decisions and can drive a large rework without waiting for a spec.
How to apply
